Alright, so in the year of 2002, TK and Mirax decided they needed a place to put all their silly little Star Wars internet ideas. The name came from the line in Empire Strikes Back when C-3P0 is wandering around Cloud City and stumbles across another protocol droid like him. He greets it and it responds "E CHU TA!" -- to which Threepio responds, "HOW RUDE!" Of course, Mirax and TK, being the evil bitches they are, instantly believe that droid is basically saying, "Fuck you." I mean, come on, what would you say to Threepio? XD

(Oh please, we love the punk. ;D)

The first sites listed on this domain were viridity, scum & villainy, keepers of the peace and compact corellian, which is the now passed on Corran Horn fanlisting, which Mirax couldn't keep up with since life took over for her. XD

Over the years, this has been a place for many silly little projects and ideas -- and continues to expand, mostly into the realms of the Expanded Universe, which Mirax and TK seem to enjoy just as much as the movies. The EU needs it's share of insane little ideas and echuNET is here to provide them. XD

Within the past couple of years, we've added a couple staff members, who contribute their own sites and ideas and this place has become a big happy team. With the eighth layout, in May of 2008, we went a bit of a different route and instead of just being a collective with a list of sites, we sort of made it an "in-universe" holonet site where our favorite EU characters get together (lol, like their own facebook/myspace/whatever) and act a fool with things such as their own "pictures" and "art" and so on -- as well as a list of websites that are a part of the collective of echuta.net.

Then with the ninth layout, it sort of shifted the social network aspect to their own ning network (which you can go join to converse with them, if you'd like! ;D) and made echuta.net sort of a site where holo-reporters and fans keep up to date on them... since they are "celebrities/heroes" after all. Heh.
