TRISTAN; Starting out with the Tristan appearing in the Rosalind Miles Isolde series, he's a nature boy at heart. His mother gave birth to him in the woods and he's seen in his element during the scenes in the forests. Like Jacen, he just seems to have a connection with the living. Tristan is a very loyal man when things are going smoothly, but when he thinks something is wrong, much like Jacen with his daughter, he threatens to crack under pressure (much like Tristan and the OTHER Isolde from France, whom he marries -- under pressure). In the 2006 movie version, Tristan and Jacen Solo have quite a few parallels. First off, how can you not mention the MAKING OF THE WEARABLE LOVE. Like Jacen and his little gort eggshell necklace, Tristan makes Isolde a bracelet of stones and gives it to her. He's also in his element in the forest, and tends to wear green a lot like NATURE AND JASA'S SABER. And arguing of the "greatest knight" springs up too -- Tristan was called "England's Greatest Knight", and Jacen is one of the greatest of the New Order. (I SAID ONE OF THE GREATEST, NO BASHING THX.) Heehehe~
ISOLDE; In the Rosalind Miles books, Isolde is the next in line for the throne of Ireland. She's a strong-willed Queen who appears in more than a few Arthurian legends. Running a matriarchal society, following in her mother's footsteps, Isolde holds many similarities to Tenel Ka. She's quick-witted, self-sufficient and quite clever -- and she also guards her emotions closely, usually only pouring them out in Tristan's presence. In the 2006 movie version, she's more soft-spoken -- and the few similarties she has with Tenel Ka are definitely overshadowed by the JACEN SOLO leaking out of Tristan's PORES. DUDE.
TOGETHER; Many similarities spring up between the two pairs. The main one obviously being the Queen and the Knight. They resemble Dark Nest J/TK the most. The loyal Knight who isn't part of her crowd of suitors ends up closer to her than he could possibly imagine at certain points. The pairs have to keep their relationships hush hush, one for fear of their child's life -- the other for the fear of their own lives and the Kingdom they serve.
ERIC; Joker, innocent, playful. Eric, a kid at heart, is basically one big dork, like Jacen. In many episodes Eric is seen talking about the Force and being a Jedi, since Star Wars was released during an episode in the middle of the shows run. Whereas Donna provides the laughs occasionally when the two are together, Eric is usually the one telling the jokes and being the dork.
DONNA; Redhead, tough, athletic. A softie only when she sees fit, Donna and Tenel Ka share more than a few similarities. She depends on Eric for very few things but loves him all the same. We say the radio station she works at can relate to Hapes -- cause the listeners love her, just like the subjects adore TK. XD
TOGETHER; These two are more like Jacen and Tenel Ka in their younger days. Donna is the more serious of the two while Eric plays the muse. Then you know, Eric had to go leave to go to Africa and whatever SO THEY BROKE UP. (WTF was that.) So Eric left like Jacen on his little jaunt, but unlike Jacen -- ERIC HASN'T COME BACK YET, KIDS.
JACK; Jack and Jacen -- both look extremely hot in a skirt. O_O But besides that, Jack has a way with animals and the woods in general. He's referred to by another character as "a forest child..." Jack has a pure heart and still holds that hint of childlike innocence that Jacen shows occasionally. He's also quite peaceful, and only fights when seriously provoked -- or someone he loves is in danger.
LILY; Unlike Tenel Ka, Lily wears her heart on her sleeve. But the quick wit she possesses is similar to that of Tenel Ka - like the part where Lily betrays Darkness at the last minute and lets the unicorn free, which seemed to be her plan all along. We can also assume Lily comes from a higher echelon of people; a rich family, royalty - something of that nature. But like Tenel Ka, she doesn't flaunt it and really doesn't acknowledge -- or even seem to care about it. Lily's usually hanging out alone in the forest or playing with Nature Boy Jack.
TOGETHER; These two work in a freakishly perfect team without even planning it. And Jack knows he can't tell Lily what to do, much like Jacen wouldn't even dare attempt to tell Tenel Ka what to do. While they're seemingly two of the most opposite people ever, they come together in a gorgeous little fashion and make an extremely workable couple. Just like Jacen and Tenel Ka. Hot. <3
